For more than 290 years, the oldest champagne house has marked its history with artistic reinterpretations. Encouraging creative dialogue, it is now extending the experience of its annual carte blanche with a new gastronomic expression. FOOD FOR ART is the result of this singular encounter between these three universes driven by the same values.
The first edition with the self-proclaimed outsider of British contemporary art, David Shrigley. David hijacks the world of the vine and the codes of the house, in forty-two funny and corrosive works. His drawings and gouaches tell a different story about the habits and customs of the workers in the vineyard and the process of making champagne wines. His common thread: UNCONVENTIONAL BUBBLES / BULLES SINGULIÈRES. It is from this theme that our committed chef Florent Pietravalle has conceived an epicurean experience that reinvents our approach to tasting.
While the city of the popes is hosting a monographic exhibition dedicated to David Shrigley at the Collection Lambert, the Avignon chef invites the artist and his works into the multi-century setting of La Mirande. At his table, doubly awarded by a green Michelin star and the ecotable label, Florent Pietravalle has developed dishes in close dialogue with Frédéric Panaïotis, the Cellar Master of the Ruinart House, to create a unique experience: UNCONVENTIONAL / SINGULIER. A multi-sensory score delivered in six courses, combining familiar flavours in daring combinations to arouse surprise and excitement.
This exclusive Ruinart champagne and food pairing menu is available by reservation on two evenings during the summer of 2021: Friday, August 6th and Friday, August 13th 2021.
